The stupid ferry was running behind when we got there, and it was 99 degrees outside so we had to entertain an 8 month inside of the car for 45 minutes. Fun, Fun!
As you can see he basically got to do whatever he wanted as long as he didn't scream.
Ok. this is how pathetic we are as parents. Caden was tired on the Ferry and was drinking his bottle (as you can see), but we forgot his blankie in the car. The kid is so obsessed with rubbing things that he is actually rubbing a Sesame Place brochure. Way to go Ed and Jenny.. definitely parents of the year on this one.
Finally we made it to the hotel in Salisbury, MD where we met our family. Caden is not naked in this picture. He has swimming trunks on and was on his way to swim in the hotel pool.
Graci girl swimming away in the hotel pool.
When he started shivering and his lips turned purple we told him enough fun for one night.
Look at that chubby little guy.
It was obviously way past his bedtime. He crashed out in two seconds despite all the splashing and playing going on right beside him.
p.s. I swear I DO NOT have a lazy eye despite how this picture may look.
Cuddlin' up with Aunt Dee.
The next day we got on the road again and headed towards the Banks. As we do every year, we stopped at Morris' Farmers Market.
Once we finally got there Caden enjoyed just hanging out in his pack and play. Graci was sweet enough to join him. Although it looks like she's wrestling him here, she was actually just trying to be nice and hold him but Caden refused to sit still for even 10 seconds. Thanks anyways Graci!
Graci again entertaining the babies. Here she is singing to Baby Colton.
This is Colton. Caden's BFF. He is such a little sweetheart.
This time Sadie was keep Caden company. I'm going to hire these kids to come to my house I swear.
And one more. I promise he did not spend the entire week in there.
Here's our little man on the way to the Dunes. Could those cheeks get any bigger?
Heading up the Dunes with Daddy. Caden held onto Ed's shoulders and smiled and laughed the entire time.
Scottie, Joni and Colton.
Joni hiked the entire way up carrying Colton. She is amazing. I could barely lug myself up there let alone a baby.
Pop-Pop, Ma-Ma and Mr. Serious
Caden checkin' out Colt's gear.
Caden and his Ma-Ma watching the kids run down the Dunes. Maybe next year Buddy!
Kate and Ed. So proud of Kate for coming. She truly hates the Dunes more then anything. Way to go Kate!
The Slatt Family
Ed and Hunter running down the Dunes.
Then the hard part.. hiking back up.
The next day Ed and Caden went with the boys to the Wright Brother's Museum, and Mommy stayed at home and hung out by the pool. A fun day was had by all!
Daddy and Caden where else? On the wing of a plane of course.
Hunter loving life.
Here are Ed and Graci practicing for the "Minute to Win It" competition later that evening. This is a game called tipsy where you have to drink so much out of a soda (or other beverage) and then balance it on it's rim. Just for the record Ed was not the one that balanced these three cans. Sorry Ed.. Corbin deserves the credit on this one.
Caden and his cousin Hunter hanging out together.
Chubby little guy chillin' in his jammies.
Love this picture!! Uncle Toby and Aunt Nicki reading to Caden.
Ok.. I Love this one too! :)
While we were in the Banks Caden became quite the professional at crawling and in turn started to explore everything!!
Ed's family graced us with their presence and prepared some delicious sushi for everyone. Caden wasn't quite sure at first, but soon loved the show they put on for us.
Thanks Dan and Joe!!
Enjoying the sushi show.
The end product.
Ok.. so we definitely fell off the "cry it out" band wagon while we were away. We broke all the rules, but enjoyed every last second of cuddle time with our boy.
We once again took our family pictures on the second to last night. We scrambled around because a terrible thunderstorm was very close. The foggy camera is from us running outside from the AC and snapping away before getting struck by lightning.
First beach trip together for Colton and Caden.
The boys and their Daddies.
Thanks again for an amazing trip Ma-Ma and Pop-Pop! The keep getting better and better.
All the kids. We went from two last year to seven this year.
The whole gang. (We missed you Mike, Pam, JT and Marco.)
Love this!
That night Ma-Ma and Pop-Pop were kind enough to watch the kids so we could go to our favorite spot, The Tomato Patch to enjoy a few beverages and play Photo Hunt.
This smile is called The "No Kids" smile. Funny how Ed and Nicki are both smiling bigger than in any other pictures from the week.
Classic Ed picture.
Kate and Bret. Don't let them fool you.. this is when they were trying to look responsible and mature, but
This is how the night really was. As you can see fun was had by all!
The next morning we went for a ride on the beach to look for the horses. Luckily we found them as soon as we drove onto the beach.
Caden was more into his Dad's ears than the horses. At least he was entertained, right?
Then the kids fell asleep on the way home. The beach was awfully bumpy, so we had to hold their heads so they wouldn't flop all over the place.
I had it a little easier then Ma-Ma.
While Joni and Scottie went for a walk, Caden and I offered to watch Colton.
Allow me to commentate..."Mommy, there's a baby in my bed. How did that happen?"
"Ok, I've got to get in there Mommy."
"No seriously Mommy. Put me in there."
"Wow, you actually did it. I never thought you'd let me get away with this."
"It's ok Mom. I'm just going to crawl on him a little bit. You don' t have to be worried."
"Or maybe just lay here and look cute beside my best bud. Man this is fun having your BFF on vacation with you. I can't wait until next year when we can get into all kinds of trouble and eat sand together."
This is what we were looking at on Friday morning at 5:45am right before we left. How hard to wake such a cute sleeping baby.
Once again we had an amazing trip at the Banks. Can't wait for next year!!
