No worries though, Ed and I found a coffee shop later and ran to the grocery store during Caden's first nap. Ed was worried about bringing all the groceries into the hotel room/condo thingy, so he made me take a suitcase to the grocery store then load the groceries into the suitcase to bring them up to the room. I'm telling you, never a dull moment with that man.
We ventured around the Hilton complex this morning and went swimming this afternoon. Caden is still a bit tired and needs to catch up on some sleep, but other than that we are all loving the area and enjoying our time here. Ed starts work bright and early tomorrow morning and works 8 hour days straight through until next Wednesday. We'll get to see him in the evenings, but we tried to make the best of having Daddy around to play with today. I think we did pretty well.
First day in Hawaii = Success (a hell of a lot better than that heinous plane ride!!)
Hanging out with Mi-Mi bright and early this morning before the sun was even up.
Daddy lookin' a little delrious as the sun comes up outside our window.
Hawaiian sunrise.
View from the 25th floor. I'm ok with it, but Ed and my mom get nauseous going to the edge.
View of the ocean from our balcony.
View of the street.
Entertainment bright and early this morning. Yes, Ed is wearing the same outfit from yesterday.
Playing at the table in our room this morning. (There was lots of playing going on this am, can you tell?)
THE EVIDENCE
Our bedroom with the tub right beside it???
Morning walk to check out the area.
Can you say tourists Caden? Let's try... tour-ists. Yep, that's what we are honey!
Diamond Head in the background and Caden's first look at the Pacific Ocean.
Diamond Head
First time in the Pacific Ocean for this little guy. How lucky is he that he's had his feet in the Atlantic and Pacific before he was 1. Took me 25 years.... spoiled brat! (Just joking)
Looking at the Koi pond with Mommy.
Taking a break for lunch.
Back out for more fun this afternoon.
Swimming with Daddy. This is a lagoon that the hotel has, which is really nice. It's right beside the ocean but doesn' t have any waves, so the kids can all just sit and splash in it. Perfect for us. (Except Mommy thinks it's a cess pool and would rather be in the ocean where the water is much clearer. Yes, I am a freak.)
Goofing around with Mi-Mi before my afternoon nap.
Looking at the view from INSIDE the sliding glass door.
Hawaii Day 1= Beautiful place, amazing weather, kind people, getting settled in, adjusting to the time, sipping our first mai tais and realizing life is good. We miss everyone back home!
Hugs and kisses from Hawaii.. xoxo
wow, what a treat. hope your trip continues to go well, and tell Eddie to brush his hair and get a new change of clothes on! :)
ReplyDeleteThis looks amazing, as do all of you after such a long trip. I'd be tempted just to stay and never come back, plus then you wouldn't have to take the plane ride back!!! Looking forward to more pics!!! ENJOY... kisses to Caden
