Caden is 5!!!

I've been waiting to post this until I can convince Caden to do his Birthday interview, but he's just not into it this year.  Come hell or high water I will get that boy to do it, but it just may take until May or June.
Until then.... Our sweet boy, our first born, is 5 years old.  He is no longer a little boy, but a big boy.  He is a considerate, well mannered, helpful, loving, and of course sassy and feisty too.  He will  help when I ask him to.  He gets ready for school without a fight anymore, helps to get his brother and sister out the door, kisses me goodbye even when his friends are around.

Caden is still a picky eater and hates the smells of certain foods, he loves to ride his bike and still loves to swing.  Caden is into Power Rangers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Transformers, and any action figures.  He still loves animals and we just got to see The Wild Kratt Brothers in person this weekend.  Caden has recently fallen in love with his little sister and snuggles, kisses, and hugs her.  Then he gets sick of her and pushes her away but that's another story. :)  Caden is still stand offish or a bit shy.  He will warm up to you, but it may take awhile.  I always compare him to a cat.  If you just ignore him and sit quietly he will eventually come cuddle up to you, but you cannot be too loud or in his face because he will literally run away.

Caden is a tough kid and will take a hard hit or fall and will rarely cry.  He still sleeps with his beloved monkey taggie and will ask for us to lay with him until he falls asleep.  Caden is my best sleeper in the house and is usually the last to get up in the morning.  He does live the majority of his life within our house in his underwear.  We call him Captain Underpants and we have to coax him to get dressed.

Caden is observant and never misses a beat, unless he's watching TV, then he's in his own world and has no idea you are even there.  He hates writing and coloring and would rather do anything else. His favorite thing to do is work on a project with his Daddy or make a plan.

He may be five and getting bigger everyday, but he will always be my sweet little boy.  We are so proud of Caden and just love him so much.  Happy Birthday Caden!!

We love you our little ninja.  May you always be brave and kind and know that whatever battle you may encounter in life, Mommy and Daddy will be right behind you supporting you and cheering you on.  We cannot wait to see what amazing things you are going to do with your life!! We love you 3911!!!
