When Caden is in a good mood he is the sweetest boy who is just a joy to be around. When he is grumpy though, watch out!! Some days he absolutely loves his little brother and other times he is not a fan.
Caden is still going to pre-school at Derry Discovery Days and is doing well in school. He also started soccer a few weeks ago (pictures coming soon), and has done a great job.
Caden loves his TV shows and watching Wild Kratts and Avatar in the evenings with his Daddy (yuck!). He still has a love and fascination for all kinds of animals. He is very imaginative in his play lately and likes to act things out, dress up, and have conversations with different characters. He is into having longer books read to him these days, and has finally started to hold his pencil and crayons the correct way. He loves crafts but still does not love to color.
Caden is very respectful with his Daddy working from home and will hardly ever knock on the door or bother Ed while he's working. (Jackson just throws the doors open and runs in.) Caden loved sledding this Winter and went up and down the hill a million times. He is becoming more adventurous and more outgoing. He is pretty tough and hardly ever cries even when he gets hurt. Caden has recently told us that we are spending too much time as a family and he would like some peace and quiet by himself. (Poor kid's world is about to be rocked in a few days.)
He is still not a huge fan of having a sister join the family, but he's coming around. He does not like the pink in the nursery and would rather paint it blue or green (we painted it gray and he seems to be ok with it).. He likes Morgan for the baby's name because it's not too girly, but Mommy is pushing for Molly or Ella.
Caden's favorite toy these days is a calculator. No I'm not joking, and he will take it in the car with us and ask me throughout the ride, "What is 8 +8 Mommy?" then he will tell you if you are right or wrong.
Caden still will only eat yogurt, smoothies, fruit of any sort, carrots, cliff bars, some chips and crackers, jello, and a few other foods. Feeding him is still a nightmare, but we can now go out to eat and he doesn't complain as much about other people's foods and the smell.
Waiting to feel Sissy kick.
Caden is still a great cuddler and will cozy up to you whenever you are sitting on the couch. He hates clothes and is usually in his underwear all day long. Monkey taggie is with him at every nap and every night. He is a great sleeper and still needs his nap in the afternoon and about 10 hours of sleep at night. Caden loves doing ninja/karate moves like they do in his favorite show Avatar. He is still a worrier, gets anxious about going to school each day, and always asks if I'm going to remember to come pick him up.
Caden's common form of communication.. a quick thumbs up without a look or a word being uttered.
We love our big boy so much and are so proud of all the new adventures he has embarked on. Your sassy attitude and talking back give us a run for our money, but you make up for it with your koala hugs, kisses, and your kinds words. You are our quirky little boy and we love you more than you know. You definitely have Mommy wrapped around your little finger, and Daddy sometimes too.
