Beach 2012

Saturday morning was a whole new experience for us.  We thought we had mastered our beach trips last summer only to have our whole routine turned upside down by adding Jackson into the mix.  Surprisingly everything went very smoothly, and we had a great time.  It was the perfect temperature without a cloud in the sky.
Caden sat very quietly on the blanket and scooped sand in and out of the bucket.  He ate snacks on the blanket, played on the playground, talked to people that came by and just was very calm and relaxed.
Jackson on the other hand was a nut!!! He crawled on the sand from the second we got there until we left.  He refused to sit on the blanket and consumed about 5 pounds of sand while we were there.  He wasn't interested in playing with toys or having any puffs for snacks.  When we got home the child had sand is his nose, ears, eyebrows, and just about everywhere you can imagine.  I told Ed we may have to be that family that brings a pack n play to the beach just to get a little bit of rest.

BTW... for those of you that know me, it was so hard for me to let Jackson get completely sandy and not clean him off every five seconds.  I didn't even obsess about digging the sand out of him mouth.  It's amazing how far you come and how much you let go with the second baby.

I love this series of pictures.....

 And.... in the mouth again!!

Yes I was present despite the lack of pictures.  Isn't that a Mommy's job, photographer?
