Mt. Gretna

Mt. Gretna is a very special place to my family.  My grandmother, (my mom's mom) would take all of the girls in the family to Mt. Gretna for a week when we were younger.  We would fill our days playing on the playground, catching minnows in the stream, swinging on the porch swing, and of course going to the Jigger Shop for ice cream every single night.
We have not been there for well over 20 years, but this year we decided it was time to go back. We had such a fun time!! My sister and I were able to show our kids the exact same type of fun we had when we were younger.  The pictures tell the story of the wonderful traditions we were able to pass on.

Jackson's poor legs were just too little to keep up.  I had to carry him most of the way up.... and down!

We hiked Governor Dick, and there is a lookout tower at the top.  Ed, Jackson, and Dylan went up, but Caden and I were the smart ones that stayed on the ground.

My sister and I played on the exact same fire truck 25+ years ago.  Wow... we are old!!

Exploring the fairy garden with Mi Mi.

This was Molly's reaction to most of the trip.  She was teething while we were there and was pretty miserable most of the time.  She didn't sleep well, so on the final morning there I loaded her into the car at 5am and drove the whole way back to Hershey to get a coffee at my normal Dunkin Donuts.  We made our way back in plenty of time that everyone was still fast asleep.

Each of the bedrooms had a loft above it which the boys loved!! Ed and the boys slept up there every night.  It's like the house was made for little boys.
We will definitely be taking this trip again next year and hopefully for many more years to come.  The boys continue to talk about it and want to know when we are going back!!
