As always, Molly woke with a smile and started bouncing around every time we would tell her Happy Birthday or sing to her. She truly is a joy most of the time, and only a terror every now and again.
Reflecting back on the last year I can only sum it up the way Caden did when he said, "I can't believe we've had her a year!" It is so true. This past year has been the fastest year of our lives. We truly feel like we blinked and Molly is all of a sudden turning one. I can clearly remember every detail of my labor and delivery with her, but Ed could not recall any of it. It may be due to the fact that he was sick or that he's just so overwhelmed with life and the other kids that he's blocked it out.
Either way Molly's birth and everyday after has been such a special gift to our family. I continue to say it, but she truly completes us. We all want to snuggle and kiss her or just make her laugh. She is sweet but crazy, calm and wild, girly yet tough, and everything in between.
I cannot wait to see what amazing things this little girl does with her life. I wish for so many things that are different for her than the boys. I hope that she grows to be a confident girl who is not afraid to state her opinion. I hope that she is kind to others and stands up for what is right. I hope that she is spontaneous yet grounded, focused but carefree. I hope that she can laugh at herself and learn to love herself as much as we love her. I hope that she holds onto her love to dance and her appreciation for music. I hope she takes chances and follows her heart. I hope she travels and sees the world. I hope she is successful in whatever path she chooses, but most importantly I hope she keeps that beautiful smile that fills up her face and that she may always know how much we love her. Those chubby little legs of her are going to take her great places in life. I just know it!!
Happy 1st Birthday Molly Moo! We LOVE you!!
Molly is now 21 pounds and 31 inches long. She still loves her bottle at nap time and bed time, but will also drink out of a sippy cup.
Molly is such a laid back little girl. She goes with the flow of the boys schedule all day long. She is loaded in the car to pre-school for pick up and drop off. The poor girl naps in the car or when we actually let her lay in her crib.
Molly is happy almost all day long, but will scream and let us know when she is mad. She insists on being right in the middle of things and always, always, always wants to be near her brothers.
Molly loves fancy things. She will bring shoes over to me to help her put on, and today insisted on wearing a tu-tu, headband and necklace. Oy vey!!
Molly will eat anything you put in front of her. She loves avocados, chicken, and any kind of fruit. The only thing we have found that she doesn't like are bananas.
Molly is familiar with many of our family members and easily goes to almost anyone she is familiar with. Her daddy is definitely her favorite and she will jump out of anyone's arms to get to him.
Unlike the boys, Molly never liked to be swaddled and she never took a pacifier. Molly can also be put down for a nap or to bed at night while she's still awake. This NEVER happened with the boys!
Molly loves to listen to music and will sit on her knees and dance and bounce. She is the cutest thing!
Molly can give open mouth kisses, but you end up slobbery and wet. Molly is fearless and will climb, dive, or flip on or off of anything. She constantly is climbing and ALWAYS has something in her mouth that she shouldn't have.
These two boys can make Molly giggle more than anyone else. She loves being near them and lights up whenever they give her attention. Lucky for her they love her so much!
She loved when we put her in the pool a few times and I'm anticipating a water baby this summer. Knowing this dare devil, she'll be going off the dive before her 2nd Birthday.
Molly is officially walking. She can make it the whole way across the living room, but sometimes falls on purpose and then walks on her knees.
Ed swears that she always smells good. He says he doesn't understand it and thinks it's amazing. I think he's just losing it and isn't around for enough of her stinky diapers.
Molly hates to get her diaper changed and will put up her best fight wrestling you to get away.
Molly had the same belly problems that Jackson had and spent her whole first year on Alimentum formula. It was great and didn't give her any problems.
Molly only really cuddles when she is tired or being shy because someone she doesn't know is around. She literally does not sit still long enough to cuddle.
She absolutely HATES socks on her feet and will rip them off as soon as she can. Her feet can be as cold as ice and those darn socks are still coming off!
This little girl has spent A LOT of time in this car seat. On family vacations, to soccer practice, back and for to pre-school everyday. This is where she has spent most of her time.
Molly is seriously crazy!! She is fast, smart, and doesn't miss a beat. She knows everything that is going on and I'm sure as soon as she can talk all the jabbering she is doing now will turn into words. We just love her to pieces and can't wait to see what she does in the next year!!

When Jackson turned one!
As I read over what I wrote about Jackson at one, it is VERY similar to Molly. We are officially in trouble!!
